Mainstream SEND

At The Sittingbourne School, we offer a wide range of support for our Special Educational Needs & Disabilities' students. All our staff know and understand the needs of our students and plan and adapt the curriculum to ensure they are able to access the learning and make progress. In cases where additional support is needed, the school offers a wide range of evidence-informed interventions to address a range of difficulties from Friendship Skills to Lexia delivered by our team of trained support staff. Alongside this, we offer pastoral support to meet the social and emotional needs of our students such as quiet spaces and social areas. This includes our Link provision where students can have a short time out from learning to our Pod provision where students can enjoy games and activities in a supervised setting. All of this is underpinned by a dedicated and caring SEND team who are happy to do what they care to ensure all our students have the best possible experience at our school.
