The School is very attractively landscaped with mature trees, shrubs and flower borders. Within the site there are currently over 30 acres of playing fields and 12 tennis/netball courts. There is also a floodlit multi-play outdoor complex. Our Sports Centre houses squash courts, two gymnasia and a sports hall.
The Schools academic facilities are housed in eight blocks which encompass modern science laboratories; specialist technology workshops; art, drama, music, dance and sound and vision recording studios; a sports conference room; extensive ICT suites equipped with over 600 computers.
In addition, we also have on site a specialist department for deaf students, in which we have enrolled students from all over Kent. We use the ‘Total Communication Approach’ which has been elected by parents as being the method of education they prefer. Our deaf students have a greater level of inclusion within the School as the majority of their education takes place in mainstream classes alongside hearing students and staff.
The Sittinbourne School prides itself on the quality of facilities for students - over 600 computers, with one computer for every two students; hi-tech digital recording studio; and performing arts studios.
All students have free access, at all times, for both IT and Internet use. The School is open from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm every day to students.
A Homework Club and Extended Day activities are also available every morning and evening to students.
The sixth form offers a range of high quality student facilities. You will have access to ICT equipment as well as having Internet access and your own e-mail account. We offer a well stocked HE library, use of a careers advisor, sports facilities, a gym, the school canteen and much more.
Out of lesson time, a range of facilities are available for private study as well as an area to relax.
Out of lessons students are able to relax in the centre's lounge areas, offering comfortable seating.
