The History department want to promote students' inquiring minds and help develop a range of skills that can be used across the curriculum.
At Key Stage 3 we cover topics from the Roman Era right through to the Second World War. Many of the topics cover key historical events where students are able to analyse and evaluate their importance. They also can observe the changes that have developed, using sources as their evidence.
Our Key Stage 4 offers a lot of variety and an opportunity to delve deeper into histories students are unlikely to come across in their everyday lives. They will look at how Public Health has changed for over a thousand years, how the Normans change the future of Britain, the creation of the USA and also explore life in Nazi Germany. They will also have a local study which focuses on Dover Castle.
