Health and Safety

My name is Mrs Oxby-Parker and I am an Assistant Head teacher at The Sittingbourne School.  As Health and Safety Lead it is my responsibility to be the focal point for day-to-day safety procedures and to give advice.  As a health and safety team we carry out regular inspections of the school to ensure that the buildings and outside areas are safe for the students and staff. I oversee the safety measures we have in place such as the CCTV, school perimeter, first aid and emergency regulations. 

Having taken on this role last summer, I would have never predicted that in 2020 that we would be dealing with a worldwide pandemic. Working together with the wider school staff team, we have put in place a number of protective measures, based on the Department for Education (DfE) and Public Health England (PHE) advice throughout the Covid-19 pandemic and will continue to identify risks and protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our children, staff and families updating our processes as appropriate.
